Croeso i Flwyddyn 1
Welcome to Year 1
Class Teachers: Miss Fletcher
LSA: Miss Stone
Our topic for this half term is:
'Land Ahoy (Under the Sea)'
This term we will be learning all about life under the sea, pirates and coastal landscapes. Please see the Mid Term planner below for more details about what the children will be learning this term, as well as our new homework topic grid. This grid is for you to work on with your child at home. Do as many of the tasks as you like or feel free to create your own piece of work linked to our topic.

In addition to topic homework, which can be completed over the course of the term (please see the attached document above), the children will be set weekly or fortnightly tasks with a Literacy or Numeracy focus to complete at home. This might be a game or an activity that you can do together at home. It will be sent out on a Friday and will be due back in on the following Wednesday. Homework now needs to be completed in your child's new Homework book - we will no longer be using P4C books.
If you have any questions regarding homework, then please do not hesitate in coming to see us.
Our VIP Home Learner of the Week is Leah
P.E. lessons are on Mondays each week and this term we will be focusing on games. We will be learning how to play as part of team alongside developing our skills.
Pupils will need black shorts, a t-shirt in their house colour and trainers. We would be very grateful if you could practice dressing and undressing with your child and folding clothes into a tidy pile. This will help us in class and minimise lost clothing. Many thanks in advance for your support with this.
If your child would like daily fruit provided by school, it is £1.50 per week and needs to be paid for in advance on Parent Pay. Or you may prefer to provide your child with their own daily fruit.
