Welcome Message from the Headteacher

Welcome back! I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable summer with your children; I look forward to hearing all about their stories and adventures.

It gives me great pleasure to write to you as Headteacher of St David's CiW Primary School and to welcome you to what I am sure will be another very busy and exciting year ahead!

Since starting my post as Headteacher at St David's,  I have been tremendously impressed by the whole school community, especially the children. Every time I step onto the yard I am welcomed by a sea of inquisitive smiley faces, each desperate to learn and immensely proud of their school.

Our school has a dedicated team that works very hard to reach high standards in everything we do and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with our parents and the wider community.  The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident individuals and that the opportunities we provide for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum; where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential.

We look forward to working in close partnership with you throughout the year ahead, to ensure your child develops a love for learning and strong friendships, thus enabling them to be the best they can be. Please may we ask in return for your support in promoting our school’s core values with your child.  These values are respect, truth, trust, compassion friendship and responsibility.

I hope that this website will give you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and our extra-curricular activities that you need.  It will grow over time as we add more information, but can never replace the first-hand experience of coming to visit us.

I am very excited to lead St David' CiW Primary School  into future opportunities and I look forward to the many challenges in the years ahead.

Best wishes,

Mrs Claire Cook

Deputy Headteacher

Mrs Victoria Foster

I joined St David's in September 2017 and love being part of such a vibrant and caring school. I am originally from Herefordshire but began my teaching career after completing my PGCE at Bath Spa University. I taught in Bath for 5 years before moving to Cardiff in 2014. Outside of school, I love gardening, cooking, walking with my dog and spending time with family and friends.

I am passionate about helping pupils to develop a love of learning and supporting them in acheiving their own goals. I am delighted to be joining and leading the Foundation Phase team this year and look forward to working with you all again.

Curriculum Leader

Mr Scott Morgan

Shw'mae St David's? Mr Morgan ydw i , I have taught at St David's for the last three years.  Originally from Carmarthenshire, I'm a fluent Welsh speaker and see it as a goal in my career to inspire and motivate pupils, staff and the wider community to learn the language. This is my 9th year teaching after completing my PGCE at Swansea Metropolitan University.

Outside of school, I am a keen runner, racing in many 10K and half marathon races each year. Also, I love taking my two whippets on adventures around Wales! I am delighted to be leading the KS2 team again this year and look forward to continue leading the implementation of the New Curriculum for Wales at St David's. I am also leading the Maths and Numeracy area of learning, as well as Welsh within the Languages, Literacy and Communication area of learning. I very much look forward to another exciting year ahead!
