Lead Creative Schools Project 2022

'How can we use animation to improve Year 2's ICT and Oracy Skills?'

Year 2 had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a 'Creative Schools Project'. As a class, they decided they wanted to develop their ICT skills by creating animations around our class topics 'Starry Night' and 'Towers, Tunnels & Turrets'; whilst also developing their Oracy skills by assessing and narrating all aspects of their work. The children were involved in the recruitment process and successfully appointed their Creative Practitioner called Jim. The children had to work with Jim to use new resources, plan their animations, make their own characters, props and set, film, edit and narrate each of their wonderful projects.

The children learnt to be: collaborative, inquisitive, persistent, imaginative and disciplined.
