Originally from Pentwyn (I attended Nursery at St. David’s CIW) I grew up in Sully and Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan before moving to Bridgend 16 years ago. I completed my teaching degree at UWIC in Cardiff and have worked in various schools across Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Rhonnda Cynon Taff and Bridgend. I am enthusiastic and passionate about working at St David’s CIW and am excited to help the children reach their full potential. My roles and responsibilities at St David’s along with being the Nursery teacher is to develop the children’s Health and Wellbeing along with helping the school become a Rights Respecting School. I was delighted that we were able to gain the Silver Award last year and hope to gain the Gold Award this year. I am very busy with my daughter (who is 14) outside of school and enjoy helping her look after her horse called Eleri. I also have 3 dogs called Sophia, Cooper and Zara along with five cats (Louis, Adara, Nathan, Coco and Prince!) and some fish!!
Originally from Taunton, I came to Cardiff to do my teaching degree. I graduated in 1996 with a BA hons in Education. I began working at St David's C/W Primary school in 1997. Having taught the Reception class for many years I am now teaching some of my original pupil's children, which is lovely!
I am very much looking forward to starting the new school year and becoming the Year 6 teacher! I completed my teaching degree at the University of South Wales and I have gained lots of experience working in different schools across the primary phase through various supply work. This will be my first class and I am very excited to see what the year ahead brings! I am very passionate about giving young children the best possible education in life through high quality teaching and learning experiences! My roles and responsibilities at St David’s include supporting Miss Underhill-Jones to develop the children's Health and Wellbeing and running afterschool Health and Fitness clubs. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for long walks, attending the gym and reading a good book!
I joined the St David’s team in September 2021. Before joining our staff, I previously taught at another school in Cardiff whilst covering a Maternity leave. I first studied at Aberystwyth University from 2016-2019 before moving back home to South Wales, to study my Primary PGCE at Cardiff Met in 2019. I am a very energetic and enthusiastic teacher, and am currently co-lead of our School’s Science and Technology team with Mr Norman. Outside of school I am an avid musician, and love bringing music into the classroom where possible! I also enjoy football, running and cooking.
I am thrilled to start my teaching career here at St Davids, after completing my PGCE in UWTSD in Swansea. I have always has a passion for working with young people, this started when I began teaching as a Dance and Drama teacher in Stagecoach Performing Arts. After leaving this position and completing my BA undergraduate degree in University of Birmingham in Geography, I always felt like something was missing. So I started working for a start-up company delivering enterprise education workshops in schools across South Wales, which led me to complete my PGCE training. My hobbies outside of school include watching musical theatre, travelling and walking my two dogs on the beach.
Originally from Manchester, I moved to Cardiff in 2016 to study at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I studied an undergraduate degree in Drama and Education. After leaving I spent time working in a residential home and school with children and young adults with Autism. I then went and studied a primary PGCE at UWE in Bristol. After completion of my PGCE, I took some time out from teaching. I came back into teaching in January 2023. I spent time working in schools across Cardiff, The Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend. I was luckily enough to cover a supply placement in St David’s during the summer term in 2023. I loved the school’s values, students, staff, and the friendly environment that St David’s has created. I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to stay on and teach in year 6. I am excited to be spending my first teaching year in such an amazing school with fantastic pupils.
Originally from the beautiful location of North Devon, I moved to Cardiff in 2009 to complete my degree and teacher training. After securing my first job in the West Midlands, I couldn't wait to return to Cardiff (which I now think of as home) so thankfully two years later, I joined the team here at St David's (my second home!) in 2016. I am proud to bring a calm, organised and patient personality to the classroom and I wouldn't dream of doing any other job. I enjoy working with the children on their journey to become ambitious and confident learners ready to fulfil their lives in an ever-changing and increasingly digital world. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, including playing with my son, going for walks and, when I'm not too busy, I enjoy completing volunteer work with an adoption charity.
I joined St. Davids in September 2019. Prior to joining St David's I have worked in different Church in Wales schools in the Vale of Glamorgan as an LSO before completing my PGCE at UWTSD. I have had the opportunity to work with a range of children from Nursery to Year 6, along with Eco teams and gardening groups. Outside of school I enjoy watching musical theatre, taking long walks with my dogs and travelling to new places.
