Learning Support Assistants

Miss Jenna Lloyd

I started my time at St David's at 16 years old as a college student on placement every week. Now 17 years on, I am still very proud to be a part of the team. In my years as a teaching assistant I have worked in Nursery, Reception and year 1 and year 2. I am now currently based in Nursery and I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead throughout the next year!.

Mrs Catherine Stone

Originally from Bath, I joined St David’s in 2019 after teaching at schools in Somerset and South Wales. I work in Year 1 and help to teach International Languages throughout the school. I love to inspire the children to explore and learn new languages and cultures and am proud of how multilingual they have already become! In my spare time I enjoy gardening and caring for my pets.

Mrs Stacy Vaisey

In September 2014 I returned to education and began a work placement here at St David’s. I was welcomed with open arms and received great advice and support throughout the duration of my course- I didn’t want to leave! A year later I was fortunate enough to officially become part of this fantastic team. I started as a 1:1 in year 1 and have moved up with the class each year. I thoroughly enjoy my role here, and it has been a pleasure to be able to follow the children’s progress and achievements along the way.
My time outside of school is spent enjoying life and making memories with my partner and our four fabulous children.

Miss Barrett

I began working as a teaching assistant at St David’s in September 2020 and have loved my time here so far! I am currently working with the year 4 class and am passionate about helping children to learn and develop. Prior to starting at St David’s I studied both Sport Coaching and Sport Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Outside of school I enjoy coaching gymnastics and trampolining.

Mrs Sarah Maunder

I joined the wonderful team as St. David’s in November 2020 as a 1:1 teaching assistant in year 6. I have been a teaching assistant for ten years working in all year groups, I really enjoy helping all children to reach their full potential in all aspects of school life.

I have lived in Cardiff all my life and I am married with three teenage daughters. In my spare time I enjoy travelling and  reading but most of all spending time with my family.

I have loved every minute of my time at St. David’s and I look forward to the future of being part of the school community.

 Mrs Louise Adams

I started my journey here at St David's as a childcare student on placement in 2009. I had been to several schools during my placement time, but this was my favourite. The staff, children and ethos makes it such a lovely place to work. I was lucky enough to be asked to cover a teaching assistants maternity in 2011 and I have worked here ever since. I've worked with many children and their wonderful families over the years and have a special place in my heart for St David's.

Being a teaching assistant is a very rewarding job and I love working in a field where I feel I am having a positive impact on those around me. AS well as being a teaching assistant, I am also a mum of a 3 year old little boy, who will soon be joining our fantastic school. I am very much looking forward to the year ahead.

Mrs Gemma Fergusson

I am fortunate enough to say I have been working at St David's for many years. My supportive role has been from Nursery to Year 6. I am now currently supporting individuals with additional learning needs in year 5. I have gained lots of experience and knowledge whilst working at our school and I look forward to continuing my support.

Mr David Hanlon

I recently joined the St David’s team in September 2023 as in LSA in reception class. I have been working as a TA since March 2022. I have worked in a 1-1 position and as a class TA. I also have experience running targeted interventions to support children with additional learning needs. I thoroughly enjoy teaching children and it is a privilege to be a part of their developmental journey. I am excited to embark on this new venture as a member of the wonderful team at St David’s. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading and keeping active.

I joined St David's in October 2022 as an LSA in year 3. I have loved working as part of this lovely team so far and I find my role here very rewarding, particularly with encouraging the children to get creative. Before my time here I studied Zoology at Cardiff University. In my spare time I enjoy reading, painting/drawing and going for long walks, as well as visiting home in Shropshire when I can. I am looking forward to the year ahead in year 1!

I have been an LSA for over six years,  supporting children with autism in different year groups on a 1:1 basis. I joined the fantastic team at St David’s in September 2022 and I am currently based in Year 2 helping to support a child with Additional Learning Needs. Outside of school I enjoy going for walks with my sausage dog, exploring new places and learning to cook.
