Year 3 Class Teacher
Miss Zoe Morgan
With a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher, I am so proud and honoured to be a part of the wonderful team at St David’s Church In Wales Primary School. Born and raised in Bridgend, I spent my childhood making memories with my close-knit family, enjoying time with friends, and always pursuing my hobbies of singing, dancing, and acting. In 2017, I went to University of South Wales where I studied a three-year teacher training course; gaining experience from a range of primary schools and teachers; graduating with a First-Class Honours Degree. This training stood me in good stead, moulding me into the teacher I always dreamt of becoming.
The minute I walked into St David’s, I fell in love with the ethos, community, and wonderfully warm reception I received. To now say I am a KS2 teacher in this school is a real dream come true. As a teacher, I pride myself on the welfare and happiness of the children in my classroom; whilst giving them a well-rounded and enjoyable education. With every class I have the honour of teaching, I will work my hardest to give them the courage and confidence to shine like the stars they are. I have loved every second of my first year at St David’s and I can’t wait for many more years at this fantastic school.
Year 4 Class Teacher
Miss Bethan Bowen
I am very much looking forward to starting the new school year joining the amazing team at St David’s and becoming the Year 4 teacher! I completed my teaching degree at the University of South Wales and I have gained lots of experience working in different schools across the primary phase through various supply work. This will be my first class and I am very excited to see what the year ahead brings! I am very passionate about giving young children the best possible education in life through high quality teaching and learning experiences! My roles and responsibilities at St David’s include supporting Miss Underhill-Jones to develop the children's Health and Wellbeing and running afterschool Health and Fitness clubs. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for long walks, attending the gym and reading a good book!
Year 5 Class Teacher
Mr Scott Norman
Originally from the beautiful location of North Devon, I moved to Cardiff in 2009 to complete my degree and teacher training. After securing my first job in the West Midlands, I couldn't wait to return to Cardiff (which I now think of as home) so thankfully two years later, I joined the team here at St Davids (my second home!) in 2016 as a Key Stage 2 teacher. I am proud to bring a calm, organised and patient personality to the classroom and I wouldn't dream of doing any other job. I enjoy working with the children on their journey to become ambitious and confident learners ready to fulfil their lives in an ever-changing and increasingly digital world. As well as teaching in Year 5, my other responsibilities include leading in ICT/Digital Competence Framework and Science & Technology, as well as overseeing online communication platforms (Twitter, Schoop and this website).
Temporary Year 5 Class teacher
I have recently started working at St David’s as a supply teacher and have been overwhelmed by the warm welcome I have had from all staff, children, and parents. I am delighted to be returning to the school in September as part of the St David’s team. After leaving school, I completed a Business Economics degree at Cardiff University and started working in an office. However, I quickly realised this was not for me and moved into a coaching role where I would train and support new members of staff. I found this very rewarding and it ignited my passion for teaching. I then began volunteering at a few local primary schools before completing my PGCE in 2020. I believe in creating a warm and friendly classroom environment where children feel supported and comfortable to share their thoughts and feelings. Outside of school, I enjoy travelling, walks along the beach and spending time with friends and family.
Year 6 Class Teacher
Mr Scott Morgan
Shw'mae! I am ecstatic to be joining such wonderful school this year! Originally from Carmarthenshire, I'm a fluent Welsh speaker and see it as a goal in my career to inspire and motivate pupils, staff and the wider community to learn the language. I began my teaching career in Newport after completing my PGCE at Swansea Metropolitan University. Over the last 6 years, I have taught in two schools in Newport working across KS2, leading mathematics and Welsh second language development.
Outside of school, I am a keen runner, racing in many 10K and half marathon races each year. Also, I love taking my dog on adventures around Wales! I am delighted to be leading the KS2 team this year and look forward to leading the implementation of the New Curriculum for Wales at St David's. I very much look forward to an exciting year ahead!
