Foundation Phase Team

Nursery Teacher

Miss Sara Richards

I joined St David’s Primary as the Reception teacher in October 2019 and absolutely loved it!

I grew up in a Welsh speaking school in South Wales and been teaching for 12 years. I have also spent a year teaching in an international school in Cairo, Egypt, which was a fantastic experience. But it is great to be home and I am looking forward to another year ahead in St David’s Primary!

This year I’ll be teaching the Nursery in the morning and then covering Year 3 and 4 PPA in the afternoons. My other responsibilities include developing the Welsh language. I love the early year’s curriculum; I’m really looking forward to being a part of such an exciting time in the learning and development of the children.

When I'm not at St David’s Primary, I enjoy running, riding my horse, walking my dog (Hiccup) and like exploring the great outdoors.

Nursery Teaching Assistant

Miss Amy Williams

Attending a primary school myself, very similar to St David's, with the nurturing and family like ethos gave me such a solid foundation in the early years of my life, which in turn led me to have the enthusiasm and confidence to push myself to becoming the best at anything I set my mind to. This also made me determined to return the favour by encouraging children to believe in their abilities and aim to achieve their individual and unique strengths, while overcoming any difficulties and challenges they face at such a critical time in their lives.

I have been a part of St David’s CIW since 2013, working within a range of year groups, as well as the school office.

 Reception Class Teacher

 Miss Genna Lavis Cole

I am looking forward to joining the amazing team at St. David's in September. Prior to joining St David's I have worked in different Church in Wales schools in the Vale of Glamorgan as an LSO before completing my PGCE at UWTSD. I have had the opportunity to work with a range of children from Nursery to Year 6, along with Eco teams and gardening groups. Outside of school I enjoy watching musical theatre, taking long walks with my dog and travelling to new places.

 Reception Teaching Assistant

 Miss Jenna Lloyd

I started my time at St David's at 16 years old as a college student on placement every week. Now 12 years on, I am still very proud to be a part of the team. In my years as a teaching assistant I have worked in Nursery, Reception and year 1 and year 2. I am now currently based in Reception and I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead throughout the next year!.

 Year 1 Class Teacher

Miss Victoria Fletcher (Wednesday -Friday)

I joined St David's in September 2017 and love being part of such a vibrant and caring school. I am originally from Herefordshire but began my teaching career after completing my PGCE at Bath Spa University. I taught in Bath for 5 years before moving to Cardiff in 2014. Outside of school, I love gardening, cooking, walking with my dog and spending time with family and friends.

I am passionate about helping pupils to develop a love of learning and supporting them in acheiving their own goals. I am delighted to be joining and leading the Foundation Phase team this year and look forward to working with you all again.

Mrs Sally Thomas (Monday & Tuesday)

I have been working at St. David's for a long, long time- so long that I have actually taught many of the parents! I never felt the need to leave as it is such a happy place to work.  I am originally from beautiful Pembrokeshire, came to university in Cardiff and after a few years teaching in Kidderminster I came back. When I am not in school I love to spend time with my family, walk my dog, sing in a choir and do yoga.
