“Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church at parish and diocesan level. The school aims to serve its community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers all its pupils”

Our school vision statement is "Learning Together Through Fun, Friendship and Faith". Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

The school vision statement, was agreed following wide consultation with all members of the school community.

It encompasses our school values:

  • St. David’s Church in Wales Primary School is an extension of the Christian home and recognises the supportive role played by members of the wider community including the Church, parents and governors.
  • Our school family is special and underpinned by Christian values such as compassion, kindness, honesty and forgiveness.
  • Personal, social and spiritual development enhances academic achievement.
  • The school is a centre of learning, for pupils and staff, and that we can learn much from one another.
  • All members of the school community will have high expectations of behaviour and achievement, for themselves and others.
  • The school community is part of the community of Wales and the Welsh language, culture and heritage will be celebrated.
  • All members of the school community are unique and we will positively value differences and individual strengths.
  • All members of the school community will take responsibility for self, others and the environment around them.

Every school should be a special place, a safe place, a place of learning, a place of nurture and of exploration. A school must demonstrate openness and acceptance, tolerance and forgiveness. Here, values and attitudes are formed and every individual is celebrated as unique.

A Church School is all of these things, but also develops a distinctive Christian character through its religious education, collective worship and ethos, that makes God's love and presence known to the world.

Together we can provide a safe, exciting, fun environment where our children achieve their potential and become life long learners.
